10 Easy Projects You Can Make With Stuff From The Dollar Store

The way I see it, there are two kinds of crafters and/or DIYers: those who make things because they enjoy doing it, and those who make things because it saves them money. If you consider yourself to be a member of both of these groups, then it might just be your lucky day! :-)

Today we’ll be talking about crafts you can make using items that you can get at your local dollar store. The first dollar store craft I want to share with you is a useful magnet memo board I made using some scrapbook paper and a metal burner cover we had on hand from another project.

I’m sure you’d be able to find a burner cover at your local dollar store or thrift store, and even if you couldn’t, you can get a set of them online for just a few dollars! And then you’d be able to make four memo boards, which you can then use as next year’s Christmas gifts!) :-)

Or you could turn them in to a display in your home office, OR you could use them to display your kids’ artwork, report cards, etc… So many possibilities for so little money! What could beat that? ;-)

After you learn how to make your own magnetic memo board, keep scrolling for even more inspiring dollar store crafts from around the web!

You’ll need:
Metal stove burner cover Scissors Foam paint brush Mod Podge Mod Podge spray sealant Scrapbook paper Ribbon Craft glue Magnets
Instructions:

Start by tracing the burner cover onto the backside of the scrapbook paper.

Cut the circle out using a pair of scissors.

Next, paint a coat of Mod Podge onto the burner cover using your foam paint brush. Press the paper circle you cut out onto the Mod Podge-ed burner cover. Smooth it out with your hands to make sure it sticks, and to eliminate air bubbles.

Then use the spray sealant over the top to finish it off.

Flip the burner cover over, and gather your craft glue and ribbon. Cut a piece of ribbon that will serve as a hanger for your magnet board, and glue it to the back of the burner cover on both ends, bout 3″ apart. Let the glue dry for the recommended time.

All that’s left to do is hang your magnet board and start using it!
